Qetesh is unique as she is memorialized in ancient Egyptian art but hails from the Levant. In her Egyptian form she is called Qedeshet. Qetesh is often depicted in art holding snakes and water lilies. The snake was a multifaceted symbol for healing, magic, divination, and protection in the ancient world while the blue water lily (Egyptian blue lotus), was likely used ritually for its narcotic, euphoric, and aphrodisiac properties.
